Full Metal Jacket

This is my favorite Stanley Kubrick movie. I admit, I'm not a major Kubrick fan. I kind of liked 2001 because it's so crazy and Full Metal Jacket is quite good. But I'm sorry, none of the other flicks of his (that I've seen, anyhow) have done much for me.

I guess it's kind of like Steven Spielberg. He's got a lot of hype going on, but really, he doesn't have many really outstanding flicks to his name. Let's just take a moment to rate some Spielberg flicks:

• Jaws - 6 - Not bad.
• Raiders of the Lost Ark - 10 - But this is all Mr. Lucas in my opinion.
• E.T. - 3 - Why did people think this was any good?
• Poltergeist - 7 - Quite good.
• Jurassic Park - 5 - DTS, that's about it.
• Amistad - 5 - Not very memorable.
• Saving Private Ryan - 7 - Not bad.

He has made a lot of movies, but most of them are even less memorable than these.
